Hi everyone 🙂
I hope you are all well and had a fab weekend! For all my friends in the US, I hope it was a lovely Thanksgiving weekend for you, too!
Apologies for not posting anything last week, but there are times where your mental health and well-being must come first! I know you will understand me, and thank you for that!I don’t like to post something that is the result of a lot of stress. The weather was terrible and affected a neighboring town, that left most of us shocked by the extend of the damage caused.
I also don’t like to share things when it’s not what I envisioned, so I had to call last week off and dedicate some time to myself, my baby bump, and the rest of my family!
This week though I have been making things, for my daughter and the baby and I am so excited!!
So, what do I have for you this week? My first DIY Advent Calendar Wreath!!
I never had an advent calendar myself ( I guess this was not part of the traditions here, when I was a kid) and I never made the effort making one for my daughter. this year though, I decided enough is enough…I need to embrace Christmas a bit more!
Materials you will need:
- polystyrene wreath
- envelopes (envelope template)
- stuff to put inside the envelopes
- hot glue gun
First, wrap tinsel around the wreath. Make sure you make really fluffy and big!
Then, prepare the little envelopes. You will need 25 (just in case you forgot….!!). I personally used lots of colored paper I had in my drawers but there is a big selection of FREE digital paper downloads here, here and here!
I found a simple envelope template here
When you have all your envelopes ready then, it is time to fill them up with goodies, chocolate or even something more meaningful!
My daughter LOVES sweets (which kid doesn’t, right!) but instead of using just chocolate I thought about putting some useful little things, like stickers, crayons, stamps, chopstick and other cute little treasures.
I also wanted something a bit more meaningful for each day, and while I was thinking about it, my friend Kat came to the rescue.
Kat is a mom of three adorable girls and has a blog called ThreeLittleBirds.
She came up with this cute idea of creating Kind Kids Cards for the advent calendar and prompt them to do a good deed in this beautiful festive season! I love it and I will be added them to my little envelopes.
Did I mention that they are FREE to download?!
When all your envelopes are full of goodies and good deeds then, it is time to glue them all on the wreath! Use a hot glue gun and attach them around the wreath. It will look like a colorful pretty mess but I love it 🙂
Have a great week everyone and be inspired!!
