how is September treating you so far? Well, I am still trying to find my pace and organize myself a bit more. It seems to be a struggle lately but one thing I am not quitting is crochet! I know I haven’t posted any crochet projects lately and that’s why I decided to create a Granny Square Inspiration Series. First project to share is a very easy Granny Square Small Basket.
I love granny squares and I think it is one of the first things to try when starting to crochet. It is so satisfying to make one granny square after another and combine colors to create amazing things.
The Granny Square Inspiration Series is created for this purpose exactly; to give beginners (and others) plenty of ideas and to feel confident about crochet!
So, for this project all you need is 5 granny squares, crochet hook, a yarn needle and scissors!
You decide on color and size of your basket.
First, crochet your 5 granny squares.
Then, use your hook to join the squares together by doing a sc. Alternatively, you can use the yarn needle to sew the squares together.
How to crochet a Granny Square? How to join Granny Squares?
Have a look at an older post about the techniques you can use here!
I like to do the sc around, because it creates a lovely edge that makes the basket more sturdy!
This project is super easy and can be done in no time! Add some useful things and it makes a great little gift! I like to put small balls of yarn that I keep for smaller projects. Depending the size of your basket, you can find a million ways to use it and it is sooo pretty 🙂
Have fun making one!! I am sure people will start asking you for one!
That’s my first project for the Granny Square Inspiration Series and I hope you liked enough to share it, pin it and make it!!
