Popsicle Bracelets {using scrap yarn}

Hi everyone!

I’ve got something really fun today to share with you. It’s fun, easy and you are going to love it!

Popsicle Bracelets {using scrap yarn}

We have plenty of popsicles in the house for lots of crafts and I havea lot of scrap yarn. Put the two together and you can have these lovely bracelets to wear or give as a gift 🙂

Materials you need to make Popsicle Bracelets:

  1. Popsicles
  2. scrap yarn
  3. boiling water
  4. a glass

How to make the Popsicle Bracelets:

First, you put the popsicles you are going to use in a bowl and add boiling water. Leave there for an hour.

Then, really slow, start bending the popsicles to give them a natural curve. Be careful….do this step slowly, otherwise they will snap.

Place them in an round, empty drinking glass (or mug) and leave them overnight to dry.

Now, you can gather all your scrap yarn and start wrapping it around the bracelets.

There are other ways to decorate them and I am sure you can come up with a million possibilities. These Popsicle Bracelets are the perfect gift to a best friend! They will cherish that forever 🙂

This project is pretty straight forward and, aside from the boiling water and bending part, the decorations can be done by all ages! It is such a fun project for a lazy, summer afternoon…don’t you think?

Have fun and make them colorful!!

  3. I’ve seen the bended popsicle (we call them lollies here in the UK) stick bracelets before but I love the idea of covering them with scraps of yarn. So pretty and yet simple enough for everyone to have a go at. Thanks so much for joining us at #HandmadeMonday to share this.

    1. Thanks, Julie!! I’ve seen them decorated with all sorts of things, too! I wanted to make something together with my daughter and we had such a blast 🙂

  4. I didn’t know soaking would make the sticks bend like that. I made some similar bracelets with my craft club, but we used strips of foam.

    1. Hi, Ginny! Yes, if you leave them enough time in the boiled water, they will bend much easier. You must be careful and patient, when you try to bend them because they could snap. It needs small and slow movements to create a bend and get them in the glass. Thanks for stopping by 🙂
