I am very happy today because I am going to show you something I made for a baby girl that is on its way!
One of my dear friends is having a baby girl and what a better way to welcome her in the world with a handmade, cozy and colorful crochet blanket. I love crochet and I love gifts (both to give and receive) and babies….OMG…I love babies 🙂
So, making a blanket for my friend’s baby is not just pleasurable but wonderful and calming. Every part of the process was filled with positive thoughts and wishes for this baby!
I don’t need to be repetitive and say that granny squares are so easy to make and I adore them. And this time I just made a BIG granny square; no joining involved, just growing a granny square to a desirable size!
Pick your colors, get a hook and start doing it! It is easy and your friend is going to love it!
If you have never crochet a granny square then here is the video from my favorite YouTube teacher Bella Coco:
When you reach the size you want your blanket to be, then you can add a crochet border! The result is so pretty 🙂
Here is how:
My crochet baby blanket is done! I made it in a small size that can be used in the first couple of months in the cot or as a pram blanket!
TIP!!! Afterwards it can be turned into a big cushion by adding some fabric!
In the past I also did a crochet baby blanket for a little boy that was as gorgeous as this one! I did a large granny square in blue, white and grey combination and the result was stunning. I used 100% cotton yarn and a hook size 3.
Have a wonderful day 🙂
