These last few weeks have been so busy with organizing the house and getting over our post-holidays mood. My daughter started first grade and so a room-makeover was necessary! We didn’t do any dramatic changes, but it was time to get her a new desk and chair, tidy the mountain of toys(that never appearing from hidden places) and organize her school supplies. In this let’s-do-this-now mood, I got to tidy some of my things and found lots and lots of old CDs. I realized that I have a lot and quite a few of these were free from magazines or other places.
Since I am always looking for a new DIY project to do, I thought about using the CD cases and make something for my daughter’s desk area. So, I made a pencil holder with the help of my daughter, that found this project quick and easy.
Then, my daughter got to draw whatever she liked on the papers.
I used 2 CD cases and placed them upright. For the bottom of the pencil holder I used one part of the CD case. So, in total I used 2 and a half CD cases, 4 squared pieces of colored paper and a hot glue gun.
And believe it or not, that’s it! Pencil holder done!!! We are both very pleased 🙂
What do you think? Have you made anything interesting with old CD cases or old CDs?
I had a look around the web for ideas on how to use my old CDs and saw some simple and some more elaborate projects! Have a look at some impressive projects here !
So, which one are you doing this weekend?
