bow ties for toddlers

Hi all 🙂

Today I am sharing with you a post about a gift I made for two twin brothers. I usually crochet things for girls, so this project is probably my second one for boys.People, including myself, find it hard to make something for boys. And it’s true; girls wear accessories but boys don’t.  I thought about making bow ties that can be worn on special (or not) occasions. This adorable accessory can make any little boy as cute as a button 🙂

This is a crochet project that can be finished in one afternoon and it’s ideal for beginners.

My color of choice is lime green;  people always give baby blue or navy-colored outfits and I wanted something a bit more fresh! I used 100% cotton yarn, hook size 3.5 mm, yarn needle and velcro tape cut to required size. I think velcro is the best option for toddlers, since they can pull it open. For older boys, you can use a button!

Two-colored bow ties and a card to match!

Lastly, I added a card to wish these twin boys the best and I decided to crochet a heart and stitch it on. What do you think?

I am very happy with my creation and I will definitely make it again for another little boy! By the way, it just came to my mind that this bow can be used for girl’s hair accessories or as appliques on dresses. Please, comment below if you have any other ideas to use these lovely bows!! I would love to see any projects you made with bows!!

Thank you 🙂
